Fire Relief | 2018 Camp Fire Northern California
As of the time of this writing, The Camp Fire has destroyed an estimated 2,000 structures, "threatened" 15,000, and left three firefighters injured, according to the latest incident report by Cal Fire. The fire is burning through the towns of Paradise and Concow and to the Northwest into Magalia and toward Stirling City. On Friday afternoon, five bodies were found in a vehicle that was caught in the flames. Many families/individuals are experiencing great loss, and this is where the Church should be stepping in. Two of our Next Gen churches in Chico, The Orchard Church and Life Spring Church, are in the beginning stages of assisting affected families, and we want to do all we can to support them. We encourage our NG family to support these churches on the front line through prayer and then practically, either through our ACTS Fund ("Acts of Compassion in Tragic Situations”) or directly with each church. We have already released $10,000 from the ACTS fund toward assisting our churches in their efforts to serve these families experiencing loss. Let’s continue to pray and give!
